This is was a very special week for a few reasons. And before we look into those reasons, let me highlight a few keywords that describe the planetary energies of this week: fire and intoxication.

Actually there is one more that we can start with, it’s the void. The void usually comes at the end of a planetary cycle, in our case it’s the New Moon on March, 6. During the New Moon phase, the Moon is conjunct with the Sun and no light is reflected into our psyche resulting in a certain standstill. It is the phase of darkness and emptiness that marks the completion of the previous Moon cycle that began on February 4. A couple days before the New Moon is a special time to wrap up what you’ve been doing, pause and give yourself a chance to ponder upon your next lunar month. Set your goals and objectives, reflect on what are you going to achieve, get yourself ready to take on a mini-project that you will have to complete by the 5th of April, the date of the next New Moon. The silence and stillness of the void will help you to plant the seeds for the coming 4.5 weeks.

This New Moon has happened in Pisces (tropical) and Pisces is also happens to be the completing 12th sign of the Zodiac circle. Having a New Moon in Pisces makes this phase extra special and important. It would be wise to listen to the voice of cosmic wisdom deep inside.

But there is more… Just mere 8 hours and 55 minutes after the New Moon a very significant conjunction has taken place, a Sun–Neptune conjunction. And this is a really big one, perhaps the second most important astrological event after the vernal Equinox.

One can’t speak about the meeting of the Sun and Neptune without going deeper into the topics of Cosmic Fire and intoxication. Read the featured article below to learn about the massive forces behind this event that bring both challenge and give immense hope.

Embracing the void,
Denis

Manifest your Awesomeness with Rutile Quartz — moving from Intention to Action

The Sun – Mars planetary energies and Rutile Quartz gemstone

Anytime you want to activate your awesomeness look up to the Sun and Mars.

The Sun planetary force works like a powerhouse of your individuality. In a spiritual context it connects you to your Ego or Higher Self. Mars represents personal will, the ability to move from intention to action and achieve your goals.

Now if we look down to Earth to the world of minerals, Rutile Quartz would be a perfect crystal that exhibits the Sun–Mars dialectic: the power of active self-manifestation through personal will, drive and action.

Astrological chart with the Sun – Neptune conjunction square to Jupiter in Sagittarius

The annual Sun – Neptune conjunction happened on the 6th of March at 7:59 PM (EST), or 9 hours after the New Moon took place in tropical Pisces.

There is a rich symbolism in this event:

  • the end of the Moon cycle
  • the end of the Sun – Neptune annual cycle
  • takes place in Pisces, the last sign of the Zodiac

Jupiter, the planet of expansion and optimism, that is currently positioned in its own sign of Sagittarius, will receive an extra energy boost from this event through the Sun – Jupiter square that will be growing in strength till the culmination on March, 13.

This is an auspicious time to use the emptiness and reset yourself towards a bigger and broader trajectory using the fire of the Sun and idealism of Neptune that will push your inner “guru” of Jupiter. An event not to be missed. Figure out what rituals you may want to perform, every small act of aspiration and asking for more will be counted.

Intoxication and addiction — true challenges of Neptune

Ivan Aivazovsky, the Ninth Wave, a fragment

As an addition to what the Featured Story passed about Neptunian challenges, I wanted to share a true story that has just happened and actually coincided with the current Sun – Neptune conjunction.

On the 3rd of March Bloomberg published an article “Square Inc. Co-Founder Tristan O’Tierney Dies at 35” reporting an untimely death of a young and successful tech entrepreneur.

We will never know what was the psychological landscape of Tristan for the last few years while he was battling his Neptunian addiction to substance abuse. But here is somebody else’s comment to the article that really passes wide swings between intoxication and idealism so characteristic for Neptune:

Last year, at age 35, I started drinking heavily. I would buy a bottle of Absolute and would not stop till I see the bottom of it. 2 bottles a week at min. About 5-6 months, I’ve stopped drinking without anyone’s help.
Yesterday and today, I’m having a strong urge to get completely wasted. Just go to the store around the block, buy bottle of Absolute.
Yesterday, while driving on I-695, I saw a guy with a child seat on the back seat and thought to myself: “I want that too”.

Notice how the ideal of having a kid sparked his Neptunian part? That’s why Neptune can be so challenging, one day you want to dissolve, another day you want to share love, and then what if later on you will want to dissolve again… that’s can get dramatic.

In previous issues…

The previous issue discussed how the four Elements rule over the Zodiac signs.

The one before looked into understanding planetary cycles: applying and separating aspects.

In the past we analysed waxing and waning aspects in the context of planetary cycles.

Mars – Pluto squares of 2019 and the politics of nuclear warfare was an interesting foray into the world of big politics.

We touched on a topic of an archetype of love triangle, or why Jupiter and Venus always in love.

We also talked about manifestations of the signs of the Zodiac in the human body.
